The market at Place de la Clautre

Since the Act of Union in 1240, Place de la Clautre has hosted a traditional food market.

 

At the foot of the cathedral, you can stroll through the aisles of the market and chat with local producers.

 

A must every Wednesday and Saturday morning throughout the year.

The Place du Coderc market

In the shade of the lime trees, the market on Place du Coderc is held on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings throughout the year and on Sunday mornings during the summer.

 

The Coderc hall is open every morning.

 

Must See and Do in Saumur take a break on one of the square's terraces to enjoy the atmosphere.

The fat market

A tradition of the southwest, par excellence, the gras market is held from November to March on Place Saint-Louis.

 

Gizzards, duck breasts, aiguillettes, foie gras: the producers offer you a range of dishes to serve on your festive tables.

The Nuits gourmandes de Périgueux return this year for a new edition!

 

This major meeting of gourmets and gourmands attracts thousands of visitors each year.

 

In a festive and musical atmosphere, they will take place on Wednesdays July 19, 26 and August 2, 9, 16, 23, 2023 from 19 p.m. to 23 p.m.

Created in 1990, the Périgueux Gourmet Book Festival is an institution in the French book landscape. An unmissable event for lovers of books and gastronomy, the Festival has evolved over time with a fair balance between the historical markers that have made it successful for more than 30 years.
